Rising demand for “Hand-Made“ Creations!
Like every year and also this spring Gunold, the renowned company based in Stockstadt, participated in many important trade fairs all around the world to inform customers about the latest novelties and trends for embroidery threads and related products as well as to maintain an exchange of ideas about textile surface finishing. It all started in January in sunny California, whereupon the countries France, Poland, Great Britain and Turkey followed. In between, the company participated in trade fairs again in the States , this time in Ohio and Tennessee.
Right at the beginning of the year the motto was “Off to sunny California, USA“, to the ISS Long Beach- Imprinted Sportswear Show.

This fair for textile finishing and promotion (22 to 24 January 2016) traditionally opens the international fair calendar of the sector and is therefore a mandatory show especially for American textile finishers.
GUNOLD, USA, based in Kennesaw Georgia and a subsidiary of Gunold GmbH, traveled with as many as 5 employees to the show and they “welcomed as many visitors as never before” at the booth. The polyester thread POLY 60 in particular was in high demand for small scripts. The next ISS Long Beach takes place from January 20-22, 2017.
Just a few days later, the C!Print (26.-28. January 2016) started in Lyon, France, at the exhibition center Euroexpo, and thus the most important fair for textile finishers and promotional wear in France.The show welcomed more than 11.000 visitors and 230 exhibitors, a strong indication for the importance of this show for the sector. The GUNOLD team, represented by the longstanding French distributor Bruneel, presented the full range of threads, fabrics, films , gauzes and specialty fabrics. “Several new customers and new entrants, such as screen printers, visited the booth and gathered information about our products, "reports Jutta Eser, Export Sales Manager who especially traveled from Stockstadt to France to support the team Bruneel. Even customers who prefer Bruneel’s online shop (www.lefildevosidees.com) visited the show in person to receive information about new products and to exchange ideas.The next C!Print Lyon takes place from January 31-February 2, 2017
THE PVA which took place at the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte, Paris from February 16-18, 2016 has become one of the most important events for GUNOLD, GmbH. The foil thread GLITTER as well as the two novelties POLYMET and FILAMET appealed to designers in particular. Here customers can pick one color each from the 129 shades of the wool-like thread FILAINE and from the 38 colors of the metallic thread METY and then create their very own thread- FILAMET. The same is true for the polyester thread POLY with 300 colors and METY- POLYMET. The variety of combinations is virtually unlimited. “The examples we brought along which showed the different use of these new threads and possible combinations were very well received by designers”, explains Head of Marketing Stephan Gunold. And first orders for this visual highlight are very promising. “Customers are interested in the unusual and they found what they were looking for at our booth.” The fall edition of the PVA takes place from September 13-15, 2016. GUNOLD presents product novelties for the fall/winter season of 2017/18 in Hall 4 at booth B26.
At the same time as the PVA show, GUNOLD was represented at the RemaDays, Warsaw that also took place from February 16-18, 2016. The Polish distributor DAKO presented the full range of GUNOLD products supported by Özlem Ebcin from GUNOLD, Stockstadt, who is responsible for the Polish market. The trade fair for advertising and printing RemaDays stands out as the biggest event for the advertising industry in Central Europe. Within three days almost 15.000 trade show visitors attended the show and about 570 exhibitors presented their products. The trade fair is divided in 9 different themed sectors, which includes the TextileZone, the sector of interest for Gunold and their customers. The next RemaDays takes place from 15-17 February, 2017.
The National Network of Embroidery Professionals Embroidery Marts are important events for the US American embroidery sector. The Embroidery Mart Columbus took place in Ohio from February 19-20, 2016. GUNOLD USA once again reported " a record number of visitors " on its own booth. The workshops offered by the GUNOLD team on the subjects embroidery materials , embroidery techniques , punching and embroidery machines- Basics were also very well attended. The next Embroidery Mart will take place in Nashville, Tennessee from August 5-6, 2016.
Printwear & Promotion LIVE 2016 took place at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham from Sunday 28 February to Tuesday March 1.The booth of GUNOLD UK was very well attended on all 3 days. Both, the showcased embroidery machines (Merlin Pro, Brother) as well as the diversity of the different embroidery supplies from GUNOLD were very popular among trade show visitors. Customers appreciated in particular extensive product information, ways to use the different products together with detailed explanations.
SULKY (100% Viskose) and POLY (100% Polyester) however were most in demand. The next P&P Live takes place from 26-28 February 2017
Tüyap Clothing Machinery 2016, Istanbul, Turkey completed the trade fair marathon for the first 6 months of 2016. The leading trade fair for the clothing industry in Turkey takes place every two years at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center and this year it opened its gates from 27- 30 April, 2016 to a total of 435 exhibitors and to about 47,000 trade visitors
In Turkey GUNOLD is represented by its distributor „Hedef Iplik“ who presented GUNOLD’S comprehensive products range. “GLITTER, METY as well as POLYMET and FILAMET appealed to customers in particular”, Özlem Ebcin reports thus confirming the trend for shiny glittery designs. The next Tüyap takes place in 2018. A firm date has not yet been determined.
For GUNOLD all fairs and events were very successful. Stephan Gunold remarks: “As a supplier of embroidery materials, we see ourselves more and more as a consultant”.
It is no longer just the product alone, the companies expect from us a technically competent and creative input about how and what for our embroidery materials can be used. We take advantage of the increasing participation at national and international trade fairs to enter into a procreative dialogue with our customers.”
